Customizing Events

Customizing events is used when you need to customize event information for your website to display differently than how it displays across other websites the game is connected to in the network. For example, the event is an exhibition for you, but not for your opponent.

To customize your events:

  1. Sign into your site and click on the Game day tab

  2. Click on the appropriate season in the right-side panel. If you want to edit an out of season sport, click the “View All Seasons” bar at the top.

  3. Click into the Schedule tab

  4. Click on the event date

  5. Click the “Customize” button in the upper right corner

  6. On the customize page, you can see the current event information is shown underneath each field on the left side of the page. Check the box next to the field you want to edit, then make your customizations. The following fields can be customized:

    Time - customize the time how you would like it to appear on your site. For example, if a televised event was added to the network as a 7:00 pm start, but you would like to show the exact tip-off time you can check customize and add 7:05 PM into the field. If you prefer not to show any times while you're finalizing schedule, you can check customize and leave blank for TBA.

    Team name - this can be used to include a team's rank to an event or otherwise adjust how the name for the event appears. Note the different options for customizing across the entire site and for only this event. You can customize a Trinity (CT) team name to show as Trinity across your site and then further customize it for just this event/sport to be #12 Trinity.

    Result - customize the result for the home and/or visitor team. This can be used to show forfeits if you want the result to show differently than how the opponent lists it on their website.

    Neutral Site - customize this field if the event site is different than what is being shown.

    Notes - enter text to show only the notes that you want on your site.

The following fields can be customized with a yes/no option. Check the customize as box and then override the network notation by checking Yes or No. This is useful if the participating teams want the event to show differently on their sites (e.g. exhibition for one school and regular game for the other).

  • Conference

  • Regional

  • Conference division

  • Postseason

  • Postponed

  • Cancelled

  • No contest (exhibition, postseason for some)
