Shared roster number changes
There are a few scenarios where you may need to make number changes in your shared (stats) roster. If you need to give a new player a number that a previous player wore for the same season, follow the steps below:
Instructions
Sign into your site and click on the Game day tab
Click on the appropriate season. If you want to edit an out of season sport, click the "Seasons" link in the red navigation bar at the top
Click on the Roster tab and make sure Shared roster is selected
Click the "Edit" button next to the previous player who is no longer on the team and change his/her number. This should be changed to an unused number.
Note: If the previous player was removed from your roster but had stats at some point in the season, you will need to add him/her back to your roster. Otherwise, the stats for this player will be added to your new player. Once you add him/her back in, you can check the box when editing this player to mark him/her as "Inactive".
You can now add the new player to the shared roster. If you already added them with a different number, you can click the "Edit" button next to the them. You can now give this player the number of the player who left your team.
If the player who left your team had stats at some point in the season the system should automatically keep the stats linked to them and not to the new player. If the system is linking stats for that old player to the new player wearing that number, follow these steps to make sure those stats don't show for your new player:
Click into the Schedule tab at the top of the page
Click on the date of the game(s) the player has stats for
Click the "Edit players" button in the Statistics section of the event information page
Match up the correct names on this page with the names of the players that appear in the dropdown menus. Our system will default to matching stats to players by their number. This step allows you to match by name so the new player on your roster won't show the stats from the old player.
