Shared Roster vs Bios Roster
For clients with a PrestoSports Website, when you log into your site admin (your site URL /admin), you will see options for updating the shared roster and the Bios roster.
The Bios roster is used to populate information to the front end of your website, while the shared roster is for statistics that are shared throughout the PrestoSports network. These rosters work together and PrestoSports Website clients should use the Bios roster to update information for both. Changes made to the shared roster will not update the Bios roster.
DO NOT update the Shared Roster Through the Website Bios, as this could result in duplicate roster entries for the same player.
To navigate between the rosters and edit information, follow the steps below:
Log into the admin for your site (your site URL /admin)
In Game Day select the season you are looking to update. This can be found in the menu on the right or under the seasons tab at the top of the page.
Once in the season, navigate to the roster tab
In the roster tab, you will see the option for the Bios and the Shared Roster at the top left
Here is where you can switch between the Bios roster and the shared roster. When you have a PrestoSports Website it is always advised to build your roster through the Bios option. This will create the roster file entry as well as update your roster for that season on the front end of your website.
To add a player to the roster in the Bios tab, select Add One Player
On this page you can add the player information, as well as the stats number, which will be used for the player on the shared roster. If the player is active on the shared roster, make sure to leave that box checked, add the stats number if it is different from the player’s uniform number (this is common for football teams that use the same number for multiple players, as the shared roster allows for only one use of any number). You can also link a player to their file on the shared roster from here if the shared roster was created first. Other options on this page allow you to toggle on and off the player from an active status on the shared roster and to show or remove them the website roster. NOTE: The box for show on the website roster must be checked for the player to show on the front end of the website.
After all the information is inputted, click save at the bottom. Once this is complete the player will be added to the roster. If the boxes are checked for Shared and Website Roster, then the player will be added to these files.
If your roster was inputted through the shared roster function, you can update your Bios roster with this information
NOTE: You will need to complete the season setup for your team prior to each season.
