General photo albums and galleries

If you are creating photo albums and galleries associated with a specific sport, follow the instructions from this page.

Follow the steps below to create a general photo album or gallery:

General photo album

  1. Sign in to your site and click on the Website tab

  2. Navigate to the section where you want to add your new photo album. The best place for these files would in the images or general section, but you could also create a new section to house these photo galleries.

  3. Create a new section to house the photo albums

    • Click [add here] on the right under Options

    • From the "Content type" drop down menu, select "Section"

    • Click "Continue" at the bottom

    • Give the section a name. Ex. photo-albums, photos, etc.

    • Click "Save changes" at the bottom

    • Click on the new section you just created

    • Click [add here] on the right under Options

    • From the "Content type" drop down menu, select "Section"

    • Click "Continue" at the bottom

    • Give the section a name. Ex. hall-of-fame-2024, staff-awards-2023

    • Click "Save changes" at the bottom

  4. Click into this new section and create a "headlines" file for this album

    • Click [add here] on the right under Options

    • From the "Content type" drop down menu, select "Headlines"

    • Click "Continue" at the bottom

    • Name this headlines "index"

    • Give the headlines a Date, Title, Leadin, and Thumbnail image

    • Click "Continue" at the bottom

    • In the "Pages allowed" drop down menu, select "Images"

    • Click "Save settings" at the bottom

    • Click "Save changes" at the bottom

    • You will be redirected back to the new section you created

  5. Upload all your photos for the album

    • Navigate back to the section you created

    • Click [add here] on the right under Options

    • Click [upload files] on the right under Options

    • Drag and drop the images on your computer into the dotted box or click browser for files to select them from your computer

    • Once the upload is complete, click the "Done" button

    • You will be redirected back to the new section you created

    • By editing details for any of the images, you can add a Title to the image. This will appear below the image when viewing the full album.

  6. Feature the photos to the "index" headlines 

    • Navigate to the section where you uploaded the photos

    • Check the box next to each image file name

    • Click the "Feature" button at the bottom

    • From the "Target Headline" drop down menu, select the URL for the new "index" headlines you created. Note that the sections you added this new file to will make up the URL. For example if you created that section in the images section of the website and named it hall-of-fame, the URL for that file would look like this- /images/hall-of-fame-index

    • Click the "Feature Content" button

  7. To select the cover photo for the photo album click on the index file, click edit photos, and then check the radio button next to “This is the album cover”, then click Save

  8. You can now link the photo album page to a navigation menu to make it accessible to visitors on the website or add it to a photo gallery page.

General photo gallery

  1. Sign in to your site and click on the Website tab

  2. Navigate to the section where you want the gallery page to be stored. Normally you would want to create this page within the same section you are adding the photo albums (general, images, etc.)

  3. Click add here on the right side of the page and select Headlines as the content type

  4. Enter the Name for the page which will show in the backend and in the URL for that gallery page. Enter the Title which will show as the heading at the top of the page (Hall of Fame Banquet Photo Albums).

  5. Click Continue

  6. Under Pages allowed select Headlines. Under Sorting select the sort rule you want to use. Page date is the most common one that is used to sort them in chronological order. Then click Save Settings

  7. In the Add featured page field click the gray box next to it to select a photo album with the file selector. This where you will select the index file within the album sections that you previously created. Once you do that click Add to connect it to the page.

  8. Repeat that process to connect additional photo albums. If you want to adjust the photo albums so you can manually sort them either click the pin icon on the right side of the page for each album or select all of them and click the Stick button.

  9. Click Save Changes

  10. You can now link the gallery page to a navigation menu to make it accessible to visitors on the website.
