Instructions

NOTE: This is a browser-based app. Do not click on your browser's back and forward buttons to change between screens on the app. This will cause you to log out from the app and move to a different website.

NOTE: Be sure to clear your browser storage (clear cache) periodically to ensure stats input continues saving after scoring several games. Here are instructions for clearing cache in different browsers:

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox

Safari

If you are a website client, log into your website and the app is available to you from each event information page. You can access that page by going to the Schedule tab in a sports season and click on the date of the game. If you are not a website client, please log into prestosports.com/admin or prestostats.com/admin and navigate to the event information page to begin live scoring.

When using the app for the first time, your browser will give a message similar to this: "The page at URL.prestosports.com is asking to store data in your browser". You must click "Allow" on this message or else offline mode will not work, meaning the data will not get stored in your browser when there is not an internet connection available.

You will need to have the event entered in the schedule before you can launch PrestoStats for the game. You can enter the shared roster for the program before the game by following the instructions here- Shared stats roster or by importing a roster file in the Rosters tab within PrestoStats.

Game Setup

To start any game using PrestoStats Live Scoring you will click on the button on the event information screen that says “Launch PrestoStats”. Once you do that the program will ask you to select the scoring mode you wish to use which you will then click Live Scoring. If another user has already launched PrestoStats for the game and chosen scoresheet entry mode you will have to reset the event to switch it to live scoring mode- Reset event

After you have chosen live scoring mode you must enter some basic information about the event before you can begin entering plays. Some of this information will be filled out already, and some needs to be done manually like:

  • The location of the contest

  • Each team's starters or starting lineup. For sports such as field hockey, hockey, lacrosse, and soccer that have goalkeepers you will need to also enter those players where it says choose starting goalkeeper.

You can now begin to add plays.

Click on the Add Play button at the top of the app to see the play entry buttons. You can control the clock by clicking it or using the space bar or F6 key to start and stop the clock.

For baseball and softball the Add Play button will take you to the field screen where you can begin entering pitches and plays.

Note: The app automatically sets the keystroke for the home and visitor team. The auto setting is the first letter of each team name, except basketball where it's H and V. You can change this setting to anything you want in the Setup tab.
