Add a live, auto-updating score overlay to your video broadcast in a few clicks — no graphics operator required.
A scorebug is the compact score graphic that sits in the corner of a sports broadcast. StatView generates one for your event directly from your live stats feed: the score, period, and game situation update automatically as your stats crew scores the game. The scorebug is rendered on a solid "chroma key" background, so any streaming tool that supports a browser source and color keying (OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast, and similar) can overlay it on your video.

Scorebugs are available for every sport StatView covers. Each sport has four styles, and the information shown is tailored to the sport:

Larger styles also include a bottom bar that rotates through team stat comparisons (for example total yards, first downs, and turnovers in football, or kills in volleyball) every 10 seconds.

Launch the scorebug from Gameday
Open your event in Gameday and click the Launch Scorebug button on the event page. The scorebug setup opens in a new browser tab, already pointed at your event.
Tip: The scorebug works for any event with a live stats feed. You can set it up before the game starts — it will show zeros until play begins, then update on its own.

Choose a style
The style picker shows the four layouts available for your sport, with a preview of each. Click a style to continue.

Horizontal Full — a full-width broadcast bar with logos, game situation, and a rotating stats bar. The most information-rich option.

Minimalist — the smallest footprint: teams, score, and period only.

Rectangle with Details — a compact corner rectangle that still includes situation details and rotating stats.

Rectangle Compact — a sleek corner rectangle with just the essentials.
Styles with a rotating bottom bar have a ? icon in the top-right corner of the card. Click it to see exactly which stats rotate and how often:
Customize colors, logos, and sponsor
The configuration page is pre-filled for you: team names and logos come from the event, and each team's background color is automatically matched to its logo. A live preview at the bottom shows exactly what will go on air, using the real game data.
You can adjust:

Display Name — shorten long school names so they fit cleanly (e.g. "Friends" instead of "Friends (KS)").

Logo — click Change to upload a different logo for either team.

Background / Font colors — use the color pickers or type a hex value to match team branding, and adjust the font color for contrast.

Sponsor (optional) — upload a sponsor image to display inside the scorebug. The required size depends on the style you picked (it's shown on the page), and uploads are resized automatically.
Use the Background toggle above the live preview to check how the scorebug reads on both dark and light video. When it looks right, click Continue to Display.
Note: Your configuration is saved per event in the browser you're using, so returning to the same event later restores your setup automatically.
Open the display page
The display page is the broadcast-ready output: your scorebug in the top-left corner on a solid green background, ready to be keyed out by your streaming software.
Leave this tab open during the game — the scorebug polls the live stats feed every few seconds and updates itself. The Settings button in the top-right lets you change the background color or jump back to editing without losing your place.
Why is there no game clock? Scorebugs intentionally show the period/quarter/half rather than a running clock. The clock in the stats feed lags real time, so displaying it on a broadcast overlay would be misleading.
