CRITICAL RULE: NEVER DELETE A PLAYER IF THEY HAVE RECORDED STATS!
If a player is released or suffers a season-ending injury, do NOT delete them from your roster. Deleting a player permanently orphans their accumulated stats, breaking team season totals and individual leaderboards.
What to do instead: Mark as inactive
To remove a departed or injured player while preserving historical data:

Navigate to your team's Shared Roster in the PrestoSports CMS.

Click on the player's name to edit their profile.

Uncheck the "Active" box (or change status to Inactive/Injured).

Save your changes.
Result: The player is hidden from the public active roster view and the PrestoStats entry program, but their historical database stats remain perfectly intact.
Handling Roster Transactions (Trades)
When a player is traded between IFL teams, their stats must follow them seamlessly. Instead of creating a new profile, this is handled via the League/Admin:

Go to the player's profile on the former team's roster.

Select "Edit Career."

Use the option to copy the player to the new team within the same season.
Note: The former team must still mark the player as Inactive on their own roster after the transfer is complete!
Protecting Career Stats
PrestoSports builds lifetime career history by linking player data across multiple seasons and teams. Overwriting a profile or deleting it breaks this chain permanently.
Tip for future seasons: When setting up a new season, always use the "rollover" or "import" feature to bring back returning players rather than creating brand-new duplicate profiles.
Game -Day Roster Tips
Do NOT Add Players Mid-Game: If a player is missing after kickoff, do not add them to the CMS mid-game. Add them directly within PrestoStats to score seamlessly. Post-game, add them to the Shared Roster and link the stats.
Update Uniform Numbers Early: Ensure all jersey numbers are accurate in the CMS well before kickoff to avoid live entry confusion.
Sync Roster to PrestoStats: CMS changes automatically populate when you load the game. Always complete roster moves before opening the game for scoring.
Add Players Properly: Always add new players as new entries. Never overwrite an old profile, or you will mistakenly assign past stats to the new player.
