DNS Information

Please review the pages below for information on DNS Management for your website.

We would like to transfer our domain to PrestoSports for total DNS Management

This means PrestoSports (PS) will be the authoritative user for your domain. All changes to DNS will go through PS. This process involves you providing a zone file of your domain and an Authorization Code to transfer your domain (both required), give both to PS. This will require a DNS export. We simply hold the domain in our portfolio on your behalf for $35 per year. You can transfer the domain out of the portfolio at any time. This would allow PS to host your domain with our preferred registrar and give PS complete and easy access to make any necessary changes to your domain. You would still own the domain and can reacquire the domain if you wish to have another company host it at any time. This also means PS will auto-renew your domain every year.

If you have an IT Manager on-prem or an outsourced IT company, please make sure to notify them that the @ and WWW DNS records for your domain name(s) [URL1] are going to be updated to a new IP address on the day of website launch.

We would like to repoint the DNS to PrestoSpots's servers

This means your athletic department would host your own domain name under your account with [DOMAIN PROVIDER, ie - GoDaddy, Network Solutions, etc], but would point your domain NAME SERVERS to our servers. This process involves you providing a zone file of your domain (required). PS would be responsible for administering all your domain records, but your team would still be responsible for the initial changes in DNS and renewing your domain every year. PS will provide the information on what the name server change will include at the necessary time.

We would like to host our own domain and manage our domain records

This set-up leaves ALL domain and DNS management in your hands. This process is only recommended if you have complete access to your records with your [DOMAIN PROVIDER, ie - GoDaddy, Network Solutions, etc], or like service. If you choose this option, PS will ask you to create a CNAME record (only when told by PS) and will be provided at the time of deployment.
