Instant Replay - PrestoStream Studio

Instant Replay can record, then show your selected plays during your broadcast. This guide will teach you how to set up and use the feature.

Set up Instant Replay

  1. Make sure your video source is set up as a “Video Capture Device with replay buffer” in the Sources>Add Dock.

A “Video Capture Device” will not work the same way.

2. Now, add a “ReplaySource” as a second source. This can be in the same or a different Scene.

3. You can change the name of the source. Press OK to proceed to Properties.

4. Customize the ReplaySource, here’s a suggested setup.

This records a 10 second clip. After playback the replay disappears.

5. Make sure your ReplaySource is above your Video Capture so that your replay doesn’t play behind your main video shot.

You’ve set up for replay. Now, we will assign hotkeys to control it.

Assign Hotkeys To Control Replay

  1. In Settings > Hotkeys you can add Hotkey shortcuts to many functions inside PrestoStream Studio.

  2. Here I have assigned a key to save a replay, then one to load the replay. Earlier we set the replay to hide after it plays, so we don’t need to switch scenes, but this might also be useful to set up.

3. To START recording a clip I will press Hotkey Z to “SaveReplay”. Studio will record for 10 seconds.

4. To PLAY a clip I will press Hotkey A to “LoadReplay”. Studio will show, play and then hide the clip.

This is just one way to handle replay, you can make adjustments and also save all replays if you want.
