image-20251125-175543.png

The Championship microtheme is one of the most widely used microthemes across the PrestoSports platform. It is designed specifically for high-visibility events such as tournaments, championships, postseason play, showcases, and seasonal hubs. The theme provides a bold visual structure emphasizing hero media, scoreboards, schedules, featured headlines, participating teams, press information, and sponsor recognition.

This page provides a complete breakdown of every component used in the Championship theme, including where each element is powered, how the layout functions, and how administrators can update content within the CMS.

Activating the Layout

To activate the layout file for a microthemes. You must first locate the index file (content-type: Rich Article) and then set the proper template entry to use the predefined layout file “layout-micro”. This naming convention is common across all microthemes.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Admin → Webiste → Browse → [My Microsite Section].

  2. Create a index file (content-type: rich-article)

  3. Locate the template definition on the details page.

  4. Set the template value to be layout-micro

  5. Save

Some clients may have multiple sports within the championship microsite. In this case, you may find that it is better served to host the landing index files within each sports respective folder. i.e. “/tounaments/bsb/2025-26/index”

Overview of the Architecture

The Championship microtheme is constructed from four primary files:

  1. default-decorator - Sets the global page structure, theme container, classes, language, bookmark options, head includes, and loads relative calls to both theme.css and site.css.

  2. header - Defines the microtheme’s navigation, micro-logo, header links, full-site link, and top advertisements.

  3. footer - Handles sponsor carousels, footer details, social links, copyright, and privacy.

  4. layout-micro - Controls the content sections used within the Championship landing page (hero, banners, tabs, teams carousels, more info sections, etc.). This layout must be defined on a rich article file within the designated microsite’s section.

  5. site.css - This predefined site.css can be placed at the root of the microsite and used to create site specfiic styles that are isolated tot he microsite itself. It should reside within the root of the microsite as well.

  6. themes.css - The defined styles associated with everything the microtheme has to offer. Ths file should never be placed on an individual site.

Each file contributes specific functionality to the microsite and should be understood individually.
