Series History

Instructions

A Series history content type lets you add a file that captures the series history of one of your sports teams with all of its opponents for as many years as you have schedules and results entered into our network for that sport. Below are the steps to create this file:

1. Sign in to your website

2. Click on the Website tab

3. Navigate to the appropriate sport section (you will have to add it to each sport section that you want to have this feature. Only sports that have a networked schedule can use this feature)

4. Click [add here] to the right under Options

5. From the content type drop down menu, select “Series history”

6. Give it the name: “series”. This allows the file to sync with Game day.

7. Give it a title (Ex. Baseball Series History)

8. Click “continue”

9. From the “Sport” drop down menu, select the appropriate sport

10. From the “Update back to season” drop down menu, select the season you want the information to extend through (for example, if you wanted records against opponents starting in 1980, you would select 1980-81 here). Then click Save Season.

11. From the “Team” drop down menu, select the appropriate team, click Add, and then click Save Teams

12. Click Save on the next page to finalize creating the page

13. To view the file you have just created click on the file and then click “view” under “options” on the upper right hand side of the page

14. It will mostly likely take a couple of minutes for the page to first load on the front end of the website right after the file has been created so you will see the following message on the page:
    

    

15. The first page you'll see once the file has been processed is the history of the team against all opponents. 

16. When you click on an opponent you will be brought to a page with a detailed series history against that specific opponent.

17. Below are all the sports that would generally have a networked schedule meaning you should be able to add this feature to these sports. The earliest season we have in our network for each sport is written in parentheses.

    1. Baseball (NCAA 1960-61)

    2. Field Hockey (NCAA 1993-94)

    3. Football (NCAA 1969-70)

    4. Men's Basketball (NCAA 1960-61)

    5. Men's Ice Hockey (NCAA 1995-96)

    6. Men's Indoor Soccer (CCAA 2010-11)

    7. Men's Lacrosse (NCAA 1993-94)

    8. Men's Rugby (NCAA 2010-11)

    9. Men's Soccer (NCAA 1980-81)

    10. Men's Squash (1996-97)

    11. Men's Tennis (NCAA 1990-91)

    12. Men's Volleyball (NCAA 1990-91)

    13. Men's Water Polo (NCAA 2000-01)

    14. Softball (NCAA 1986-87)

    15. Women's Basketball (NCAA 1973-74)

    16. Women's Beach Volleyball (NCAA 2012-13)

    17. Women's Ice Hockey (NCAA 1995-96)

    18. Women's Indoor Soccer (CCAA 2010-11)

    19. Women's Lacrosse (NCAA 1993-94)

    20. Women's Rugby (CIS 2008-09)

18. Once this file is created it will update automatically as seasons continue to be completed in the network. You can now connect it to navigation menus on the website to make it accessible to visitors on the website.
